Let me start with a segway. I love bicycles, they are fun to ride, great for short distance transportation and don’t mess up the environment. There also provide a great way to exercise. I have been on the lookout on where to get a mountain bike in Abuja when I came across this project embark on by the student of the African University of Science and Technology and their visiting counterpart from the 2ie institute in Burkina Faso. The Idea is to build a bicycle from scratch. A bicycle made mostly from Bamboo tree. I was a bit sceptical about it too but when I saw the finished product I was impressed. The students (from over 10 African countries Nigeria, Ghana, Chad, Niger, Ethiopia, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Cameroon etc) were divided into groups. The basic idea really is to build a bicycle made from bamboo tree and other ready available local materials. Right Now the project is still on going but I was about to take some snapshot of some finished Bikes :)

This IMHO is the most elegant way to manage applications menus. Here the menu is tucked nicely in the window manager such that its easy to have access to them without travel (to the system panel) -looking at Unity , and at the same time I can use my focus under mouse settings. I guess a picture is worth a thousand words.  An example of KDE’s Koolness.

Today I finally got a couple of cases for my Galaxy S phone. It took me a while to settle down on a case, which would add a little grip to an otherwise very thin and slippery device, without distracting from its sleek coolness, but rather adding more style and posh to the current Samsung smart phone King.  I will let the pictures take it from here.

It’s been a while since I took a hike. So when last friday a friend asked if we could take an off-road walk into some of the wilderness around where I leave, I jumped on the offer. It was to be the most refreshing and mind blowing experience I have had in a long time.
